Provide critical care and advanced life support related to respiratory care assessment and procedures to patients on the scene, at receiving or referring hospitals, and during flight operations. Maintains proficiency in the indications and procedures of the following equipment and skills such as: EKG’s, IV (including PIV/EJ and adult/pedi IO), NGT/OGT insertion, pacing/defibrillation, needle decompression, combi-tube insertion, intubation, LMA and surgical cricothyroidotomy, Intra Aortic Balloon Pump, central line insertion, pericardiocentesis, isolette, IVAC IV Infusion Pump, cardiac monitor (EKG, pacing/defibrillator use). Participates in the safety of Lear Jet operations such as assist the pilot in the navigation of the aircraft and the utilization of the radios during flight operations. Documentation of the patient care rendered by the flight crew and complete debriefing for each flight. Functions as a member of the flight crew when assigned to flight duty, providing respiratory assessment and care, assisting in the Emergency Department as able and providing patient care report via radio and/or in person to other health care providers as indicated.• Full Time Flight Respiratory Therapist responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill and/or injured patients of all ages in both pre-hospital and inter-facility hospital settings • Understands and applies specialized principles and techniques of flight respiratory therapist practice, advanced emergency procedures and diagnostics. • Performs a variety of outreach and educational activities in addition to flight related responsibilities • Maintains current certifications and licenses required for active flight duty.

• Help patients with aerosol therapy, oxygen and other home healthcare equipment• Provide care and education accordingly• Provides initial and ongoing phone contacts with all respiratory patients• Provide in-home visits to patients• Provide Sleep Central Clinics • Conducts patient assessment per the physician’s orders• Maintains documentation of all services provided and all work performed • Assumes on-call responsibilities for phone consultations during non-business hours • Sets up all highly technical respiratory equipment including but not limited a) Invasive ventilatorb) Noninvasive ventilatorc) Infant monitorsd) Other high-tech respiratory equipment as defined by scope of service at the location (e.g., cough assist, negative pressure ventilation, IPPB, etc.)
