CurrentI joined Yelp when it had just 1 lawyer, 150 employees and $25 million in revenue. Since then, I have been instrumental in helping grow Yelp's legal team to 12 talented lawyers, while the company itself expanded to over 5,000 employees and more than $1.3 billion in revenue.Since 2009, I have been on the front lines handling nearly every major non-litigation legal matter for Yelp, including:- Advising Yelp's Business Development team on all enterprise partnerships and revenue deals, conducting product reviews and assessing privacy and IP-related risks.- Managing all legal issues pertaining to Yelp's global Sales organization with over 3,000 employees across 7 international offices and $1.3 billion in revenue.- Providing legal oversight and serving as de facto General Counsel for newly acquired businesses such as Eat24 (US), Yelp Reservations (US), Yelp Waitlist (US) and Yelp Ireland (IE). - Overseeing legal review and negotiations for all inbound and outbound agreements across all Yelp departments.- Advising Yelp's product and engineering teams on complex licensing deals to enable AI training using Yelp content. - Working closely with product, engineering and business teams to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks related to GDPR, CCPA, TCPA, ADA, CAN-SPAM, HIPAA, COPPA, PIPEDA, CFAA, PCI DSS, CDA 230, and other key regulations.- Managing Yelp's international entities across 30 countries - including entity formation, operations, global privacy compliance, HR issues, tax advice, business development and immigration support.- Involvement in Yelp's high-profile NYSE IPO and S-1 drafting with Goldman Sachs.- Core participation in the acquisition of 5 strategic companies in Europe and US.- Providing sole in-house legal support for all of Yelp's office properties and related lease negotiations, insurance and development contracts.- I was also honored to be named a member of Yelp's "Employee Elite Squad" recognizing the top 5% of contributors at Yelp.
