During my 16-week internship at Boid, I was fortunate enough to have been given additional responsibilities and worked on larger projects compared to my first internship-spell. Notably, I was given the opportunity to participate in customer meetings, which allowed me to gain a better understanding of how the consulting part of the profession works.One of the projects I worked on involved building an educational hub with curated AI courses from various locations in Sweden. The site was built using PHP, Wordpress and vanilla Javascript. In this project, I was responsible for developing a dynamic filtering function that allowed users to filter courses based on different criteria such as city, education form, course pace, and more. I worked closely with the designers and was responsible for transcribing their designs into functional code. This allowed me to hone my skills in teamwork and collaboration, and I gained a better understanding of the importance of effective communication between designers and developers. Working alongside the designers also allowed me to gain valuable insights into design principles and helped me to develop an eye for detail when it comes to implementing designs. Through this project, I gained a deeper understanding of how PHP, Wordpress, and Sass styling work, as well as some of their best practices.

During my first spell at Boid, I had the opportunity to work on multiple projects that helped me develop my skills as a front-end developer.One of the major projects I worked on was the development of a phone app using React Native and Expo. The app was designed to be used together with a physical medical tool. The app helps users plan their usage of the tool and provids statistics and tips on using it effectively. My main contribution to the project was the development of a game in the app, which was intended to motivate users to use the tool more frequently. This involved working with React Native, language translation libraries, Expo, and phone permissions. I also worked on app animations and successfully translated a Figma design into code. Since the project was written in TypeScript, I was able to further develop my TypeScript skills, which was beneficial.In addition, I also worked on a Vue project that involved a database and a component library. This was a significant project that required me to develop my ability to understand and work with code written by others. The UI I worked on relied on data generated by users, which was an exciting challenge for me. Although I had never used Vue before, I enjoyed learning and using this new technology.Overall, my internship experience at Boid was extremely rewarding and provided me with valuable experience in developing mobile and desktop applications using React Native and Vue. I am excited to continue developing my skills in front-end development and applying what I have learned in future projects.
