I assisted with data entry, member surveys, and literature reviews for project coordinators. I also assembled conference compendiums and course summaries for federal and grant partners. I have reviewed abstracts for our conferences, edited final project reports, assisted with e-learning module content and flow, and contributed to the social media presence of the Well-Woman Project.

I administered surveys on attitudes surrounding exercise and usage of technology in underserved Chicago communities. Survey administration was done in both English and Spanish. I also entered and analyzed results with other members of the research team.

I followed policy initiatives in Chicago and Illinois that may have impacted maternal and child health and updated coworkers. I educated adolescents and parents about the importance of vaccines and healthy living through social media and outreach events.

I assisted customers with financial transactions including balancing accounts, reviewing audit trails, making checks, and handling cash. I also contributed to the training of junior staffers.

I served as a liaison between newly-arrived refugees and the healthcare system. I scheduled and accompanied patients to appointments, assisted them in applying for benefits, explained prescriptions, and performed home visits. I also contacted healthcare providers on behalf of patients to remind them of their legal responsibility to provide translation services for Medicaid recipients.

Rochester, Minnesota Area

I performed biomedical research on the infectivity of a modified strain of the measles virus with an eventual research goal of creating a measles vaccine that could be administered at a younger age. I presented a scientific poster on the results and potential global health impacts to other fellows and the wider clinic community.
