Global Sales And Product Training Manager @ Bionike; Expert In Product Knowledge TransferIcim International - Bionike Jan 2015 - PresentGreater Milan Metropolitan AreaICIM is the owner of BioNike, a brand of cosmetic products that leads the market in Italy and is distributed in over 50 foreign countries. After working for a few years as the training manager for Italy, in 2015 the company moved me to foreign markets, where we had started to expand rapidly. In my current role as the Global Training Manager, I design and roll out training services for our international distributors (our business partners) and their clients (store owners), with the aim to transfer product knowledge that helps to improve sales. BioNIke has a large product portfolio, from dermocosmetics to high-end skincare and makeup, which requires providing training services of a varied nature, i.e. a technical lecture for pharmacists or a skin care event for beauticians. I also organise and manage new product launches, including events for social media influencers and bloggers. A recent social media event I was involved in can be viewed below.Special skills: training requires perfect knowledge of products, which turns very useful in business meetings as well. With distributors, I like to build close relationships and provide training that truly helps their business. This has not gone unnoticed, so they started to turn to me to seek confirmation of product selection. To them, sorting out products with the training manager is a reliable and effective manner to fine-tune sales orders. We have grown this into a full service and I now hold what we call initial "induction trainings" on a regular basis, which may involve meeting with recently acquired distributors to sort out initial orders (and start them off in the best possible way) or potential distributors to explain the brand positioning and values. I also attend fairs and congresses to seek business development, since such events are key for finding strong business partners. -
Training Manager For ItalyIcim International - Bionike Jan 2008 - Dec 2014Greater Milan Metropolitan AreaIn January 2008, I joined ICIM International, at the time a rapidly growing Italian cosmetic manufacturer, to fill the position of Training Manager for Italy. Under the BioNike brand, my job involved designing and rolling out training services for pharmacists in the Italian territory. I provided the training myself or with the aid of other experts, as needed and according to type of training - from hiring a doctor for a particularly scientific presentation to co-operating with makeup artists for makeup launches. This particular time in my career was key to growing my skills, since I often travelled throughout Italy to provide training services and assist sales staff in stores - I was able to fine-tune public speaking and people management skills especially. In 2010, I was directly involved in creating BioNike's "sell-out team", a squad of makeup artists. These professionals go to stores every day to drive sales. I helped with the selection and onboarding of these makeup and skincare experts, and then went on to regularly training them for several years.After a few years covering Italy, the company moved me to manage international markets. -
Training Manager / Scientific LiaisonArtsana 2005 - Dec 2007Grandate, Como, ItalyArtsana S.p.A. hired me as the Training Manager for their cosmetic business unit (brands: Chicco, Lycia, Korff). In this role I had to:- devise and plan training for company forces (medical reps and sales reps) and for customers – both for Italy and for foreign countries, the latter by closely working with the Export department;- act as the company’s trainer for foreign markets. Besides planning the training, I was also the person that was sent to customers to train them on new products.As I started to settle down in my Training Manager role, the Business Unit Manager decided I could also serve as a: - scientific liaison between marketing and R&D. In this role, my duties aimed at transferring R&D knowledge to Marketing in a format that could be comprehensible and exploited by the latter. One major, important activity was about supporting product claims by creating effective copy backed by scientific evidence. -
