As CTO, I am responsible for establishing the company’s technical vision and leading all aspects of technology development, according to its strategic direction and growth objectives. I work with Executive Management to add value and manage risk through the use of technological resources. Using an active and practical approach, I direct all employees in the IT department to attain the company’s strategic goals established in the company’s strategic plan.

As part of the fantastic team at Get Started I am tasked with delivering projects, managing accounts and providing leadership across a number of key clients. Using my experience and knowledge I make key differences to drive change and growth for Get Started and our customers. At Get Started, we use a number of technologies to deliver outcomes to our clients including Kentico, Sitecore and other .NET technologies.

Along with one other director I am tasked with growing the business as well as making sure our current clients are serviced well. Together we have built a team of dedicated people who are delivering projects to a wide range of clients globally. We also lead locally the development of Django Oscar which has become the #1 eCommerce platform for Django. The team have developed, innovated and built solutions for clients locally and abroad which are cutting edge. Some of the work produced has already won innovation awards locally such as the Hesta digital member card.

I was brought on board to manage all projects for the key clients at Tangent Snowball Australia. The sites includedBorders Australia (Now Bookworld)Angus & RobertsonWhitcoulls (New Zealand)WertheimI was the main point of client contact and used my technical background to bridge the gap between client and technical team. The technical team were spread out around the world across Australia and the UK so communication was key.I also assisted in building the team locally and managed project delivery, set expectations and helped with innovation. The projects were large and diverse due to the nature of running enterprise level sites which consisted of huge SKU counts (20+ million) and multiple fulfilment partners.

Built upon e-commerce experience to deliver projects for a number of clients including Fortnum & Mason UK/USA. Also managed the implementation of the new Fortnum & Mason company intranet using Sharepoint.Within the team of Project managers I was the first point of contact for all e-commerce related projects.Managed work flow of projects, including project planning and resource allocation as well as reporting on progress regularly to development team, senior management and clients.Used technical background to interface directly between non-technical clients and internal development team.Due to the small size of the company, I utilised my development background to fully interact with the development team.

Worked on the integration of all Harvey Nichols systems into one central Pivotal CRM data warehouse.Involved in setting up the e-commerce website for Harvey Nichols., with the further development and integration into the CRM platform for customer profiling. This is also linked in with the new E-CRM Strategy so heavy experience of using the customer profiles to structure targeted email campaigns.Was heavily involved in deploying the Customer experience software across all Harvey Nichols sites, the application is now used in 7 stores across many tills to profile 20,000 new customers a week the database currently holds 5 million+ transaction rows.Used previous experience with Search Engine Optimisation of the new Harvey Nichols website.Used SQL 2005 Business intelligence skills heavily to facilitate the reporting from the central data warehouse.

Used consultancy experience to work in the Noetica Consultancy Team. This role also included Technical Account Management and dealing with clients on a daily basis.Worked with some of the top players in the call centre industry delivering projects of many sizes. Beginning with the sales handover taking the projects all the way to the handover to support stage.Acted as project manager with the remit for liaising with various end users in order to design, build and implement bespoke reporting systems.Expected to work cross functionally with other technical personnel in order to develop and enhance new reporting functions.Role included creating bespoke reports using Crystal Reports and also comprehensive deployment of SQL (within MS SQL 2000, moving towards 2005) to move data around.Liaised with clients to cleanse and import data from a variety of sources (.csv,.xls,SQL 2000,SQL 2005) into the Noetica System. Had much experience importing data from external sources into the SQL 2000 and 2005 databases using DTS packages, the Noetica Import System and now using the BDIS within SQL 2005 to move data between databases.Created and maintained scheduled SQL jobs to export data out of the Noetica system to many different outputs this would include .xls files for in house reporting, .csv files for external systems and exports to other databases off site.Sourced requirements developed and deployed Crystal reports for many different campaigns – these would also involve calling stored procedures to produce the reports and also getting data from different data sources.

Working in a small IT team reporting to the Director of operations. Held an integral role in integrating new CRM and CMS systems during a complete site re-launch.Used SQL knowledge to administer 2 SQL databases and locally held databases on sales forces’ machines. Also had to oversee and troubleshoot the synchronisation of all databases and ensure 100% Data integrity.Responsible for designing of Animated Gif's for clients using Adobe Image Ready.Search Engine Optimisation of the entire site – Have managed to keep Compliance Online at top of Google for major keywords e.g. Compliance News, Compliance Jobs and Compliance Outsourcing among others.Responsible for creating reports using Crystal Reports and Webtrends toanalyse site and database use – Reporting to Directors and discussing trends over time.First point of contact for customers regarding technical difficulties with the site and First Point of contact internally for technical queries.As part of the small IT team also gained experience of troubleshooting general office computer related problems.
