Contributed to curriculum design, critique, and provided one-on-one support to guide students through independent design research projects in Detroit during the Learning from Detroit transdisciplinary studio.

Provided design support for the Los Angeles Innovation Team on their policing priority and for the Mayor’s Office of Budget & Innovation on a range of miscellaneous projects. Responsibilities included developing and implementing design research strategies, contributing to ideation workshops and synthesizing outcomes of those events, storytelling, and prototyping of designed products.

Led efforts to identify and drive strategies that enable financially vulnerable entrepreneurs to achieve financial well-being and build wealth through business ownership. This included driving forward research to inform program design, leading the replication of existing initiatives, and facilitating innovation and human insights projects to generate new solutions. Provided leadership on programmatic direction and strategy.

Provided program management expertise for the entrepreneurship and homeownership portfolios at CFED. My responsibilities contributed to a wide range of market-based innovations, policy change strategies and nonprofit program interventions aimed at enabling low- and moderate-income families to build wealth. In this role, I designed and implemented the Microbusiness Solutions Learning Cluster, an initiative aimed at building the capacity of nonprofit business development organizations to leverage human-centered design to improve their financial capability building product and service offerings.

Brought clarity, transparency and efficiency to the returns on CCP investments in Eastern North Carolina communities by conducting research and designing a comprehensive evaluation methodology for the county environment, individual partner organizations, and individual stakeholders involved in the program.

Helped facilitate the foundation’s transition from responsive to initiated grant-making in each of their focus areas (economic development, health, workforce and education, and community engagement) by interviewing community members, collecting data, and designing initiatives.Led a project team in developing a proposal for the generation of a new regional competitive advantage for the Danville area.Composed and presented detailed proposals to program staff and the foundation’s board.

Worked with other Nourish International members, a local NGO, and local and state government officials in El Gusano, Mexico to establish a community center where we taught English, computer skills and executed project evaluations. Designed and executed a research project to examine the components and implications of social capital in a rural community affected by emigration.
