My role predominantly involved drafting written submissions for civil and criminal appeals in the Court of Appeal and the Federal Court (Malaysia’s apex court). Notably, I drafted submissions in defence of the appointment of the Chief Justice of Malaysia, submissions that resulted in the exoneration of death row inmates charged with either murder or drug trafficking, and submissions challenging the constitutionality of the draconian “Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012”.

A typical day would involve me appearing in several different hearings, ranging from mortgage possession hearings and landlord and tenant disputes to resisting applications to set aside default judgments and representing children in personal injury settlement hearings. While most of the hearings were relatively straightforward, I would meticulously prepare all of my applications so as to ensure I was ready, should matters became more problematic and requiring of more complex advocacy.

During my undergraduate degree I began volunteering as a Special Constable for the MPS. In the course of this work I carried out the normal duties of a Police Constable, ranging from the conducting of criminal investigations to carrying out arrests.

The Saint Louis University School of Law is currently conducting an unprecedented empirical research project into the use of capital punishment within the state of Missouri. Since the project had just started, I played a big part in establishing the procedures for collecting the information.

I worked at a holiday site in France where my duties included welcoming holidaymakers to the site, prepping the properties for new arrivals and fixing any onsite maintenance issues

During my internship I worked with a number of clients who were either charged with the death penalty awaiting trial or were on death row appealing their sentence. My work predominately involved travelling across the state investigating the clients’ cases, liaising with the clients/local attorneys or researching the relevant law pertaining to a client’s appeal and assisting with trial preparation.

Chelsea And Westminster Hospital

I was responsible with ensuring all the medical records for every person undergoing surgery at the hospital was available to the surgical team as well as scheduling the timetables for all operations in General Surgery

University Hospital North Durham

Locating and retrieving medical records for various clinics within hospitals across the Trust. Maintaining an efficient and co-ordinated medical records library. Providing support and assistance to surgeons and nurses within operating theatres. Sterilising surgical equipment and ensuring equipment kept in stock. Preparing records for clinics. Arranging and re-booking appointments for patients.
