Kim is a Registered Interior Designer with over twelve years’ experience in project types across numerous sectors. Kim leads Carleton Hart’s interior design efforts, integrating into architectural teams on a variety of projects that focus on the needs of underserved communities. Kim's work is fueled by her belief that it is designer's responsibility to reduce the negative impact the built environment has on human health. With a passion for sustainable design, active design, and material health, Kim has earned accreditation with the WELL Building Standard, LEED® and as a Fitwel Ambassador. Kim is a wellness designer first and foremost and an advocate for material health, transparency, and trauma informed design. She regularly presents on her research at conferences and local events. Kim holds a leadership position with the Portland Materials Transparency Collaborative (PMTC) where she co-hosts and coordinates monthly educational presentations for the design community in Portland. She serves as a Health Equity Advisor for the International WELL Building Institute where she works on identifying and scaling strategies that address health inequities in buildings around the world.
