I am a highly motivated Chartered Surveyor within the Property Services team at the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service.My primary responsibility is to asset manage the estate including its development and manage property transactions and sustainability in relation to its built estate.I have responsibility for managing acquisitions by lease or purchase, disposals, rent reviews, lease terminations and dilapidations as well as overseeing the organisation’s rent, rates and service charge budget.I am also involved in the project management of some of the organisation’s development projects and provide the similar services to other justice partners under existing shared service agreements.I work closely with our FM, Estates Management and Legal Services providers as well as with senior managers to deliver excellent service across all Sheriffdoms in Scotland. I take a proactive role in ensuring development of the estate, provision of a sustainability service, the effective transactional management of the built estate and provide technical support and advice, including lease responsibilities in response to queries and service demands.Prior to joining SCTS, I was based within Avison Young’s Edinburgh Business Space Team for 4 years advising both occupiers and landlords across multiple sectors including office, industrial, retail and land all over Scotland.One of my primary instructions was a transactional role in supporting the delivery of the NatWest Scottish branch disposal programme with involvement in every stage of the process from initial inspection & reporting to disposal completion. I had personal responsibility for over 70 sales, lettings and surrenders coordinating a vast number of varied properties in different markets and locations across Scotland.I am experienced with implementing property strategies based on an agreed brief, identifying suitable solutions on a strategic and cost basis whilst utilising specialist knowledge and my network of contacts. Moreover, I have a strong understanding of property from an occupier’s perspective and have great experience of maximising value from property assets as well as mitigating costs and liabilities.
