-Lead strategic grassroots and grasstops outreach in both Utah and congressional districts across the US with a team of 6 grassroots organizers-Manage 6 organizers to achieve goals of building the "Redrock Nation", creating opportunities for activists to take part in activism in their communities and with their elected officials, and grow membership within the organization-Connect Grassroots team with other teams at the organization to better create collaborative problem solving, integrated campaigns, and better communication to accomplish goals-Identify and build up leader(s) within the organization to take on leadership roles within the team to find the next Grassroots Director-Provide training and personal development opportunities for grassroots organizers-Oversee and manage overall budget for the Grassroots team

-Build relationships with Utah wilderness champions in the House and Senate to gather co-sponsors for America’s Red Rock Wilderness Act-Attend congressional meetings, hearings, and markups, reporting back to relevant teams at SUWA on subject matter and next steps-Defend against harmful or inadequate legislation that would thwart or minimize wilderness protection in Utah-Work to achieve proper interim administrative protections for lands included in America’s Red Rock Wilderness Act-Coordinate closely with SUWA colleagues on wilderness and other legislation-Coordinate with other wilderness advocacy and environmental groups in D.C. -Plan and write newsletter articles, blog posts, and social media content related to DC goals-Organize activist trainings and lobby days in D.C.-Strengthen and grow the Utah Wilderness Coalition-Engage members of Congress and staff in a manner that will increase their investment in protecting Utah wilderness-Work with the media team at SUWA to elevate public awareness of Utah wilderness -Prepare and deliver educational and outreach materials to Congress-Manage DC budget on an ongoing basis to ensure that funds are being spent in an effective and responsible fashion-Ensure compliance with all laws governing the lobbying of Congress and the tracking of resources used to influence legislation

-Hire, train, manage, and lead contracted field organizers in target states/districts-Design additional internship program for 30 student/emerging organizers in target districts and states across the US, focused on congressional outreach and volunteer recruitment-Develop training curriculum for: effective grassroots organizing, building activist and coalition networks, growing the supporter base, grooming super-activists, creating a lasting presence for future organizing purposes-Build and implement digital federal lobbying program with 100+ activists from around the US with 250+ Senate and House targets (80+ cosponsors and counting)-Create and update materials used for informational tabling events, presentations, in-district meetings with House and Senate offices, and other events as needed-Participate in SUWA's Hiring Advisory Committee, addressing Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion principles within the organization's hiring practices.-Collaborate with SUWA's Legislative Director to ensure legislative goals of the contractors are met and organizing is effective-Manage budgets for contractor/intern expenses, payments, fees incurred, stipends, and other costs

-Grow activist base for organization to pressure congressional members, Department of Interior staff, Utah state legislators, and White House staff to act on preservation of public lands in Utah-Build relationships and raise funds through state-based networks and Friends groups via events, direct mail, and digital fundraising-Present to activist groups, universities, places of worship, and other interested parties in the eastern US, educating constituents about responsible land management, history of public lands, and what needs to be done to further protect these areas in Utah-Generate content for social media profiles and mobile messaging campaigns and analyze effectiveness in reaching a broad base of users across the US-Create visual media, including 15-minute documentary about history of organization and legislation-Build social media and mobile contact strategy for coalition and grassroots/netroots list building-Write articles for periodical newsletter for organization-Compile and update database of activists who participate in events with organization-Manage program budget for organizing in eastern US

-Design and implement curriculum for new class called Grassroots Tactics and Strategies for Civic Engagement-Lecture students on strategies for building activist networks from the ground up, tactics and techniques for activism in the street and on the wire, and volunteer management and celebration-Train students in basic use of a variety of software such as NationBuilder, Phone2Action and social media advertising tools-Guide students in creating their own grassroots campaign from scratch and present to the class for comments and critique-Quickly adapt all curriculum from in-person classes to online only course per COVID-19 lockdown.
