As a Test and turn up technician I had directly interfaced enterprise customers, some of the services that I turned up were EPL, EVPL, ELAN, DIA, BGP that traverse through our MPLS network. During the turn up process turning we would often come across issues such as MTU mismatch, xconnect down and at time circuits half built. I would work directly with our engineering department however, sometimes with them not being available I would have to fix the issues myself. In this position I also assisted IP engineers ranging from network upgrades, new customer builds, as well as a few customer migrations from legacy equipment to the MPLS network. Being involved in the network meant I was able to develop a strong skill in troubleshooting either through escalations or new turn ups.

As a NOC tech my tasks involved monitoring and maintaining our HFC network as well as our fiber network that covered as many as 300k customers. As an enterprise tech I would be responsible in taking calls of enterprise customers with issues, concerns or general questions. Acting quick in making a ticket, working the issue and if were not able to resolve then escalate it to our IP engineers. Monitoring the network meant I had to react quickly in outages and escalations to reduce down time in getting all appropriate parties informed and involved. Another big part of the job was researching daily trends, and reviewing the performance of our network daily.

Cheyenne, Wyoming Area

As a cell site tech I installed and maintained electronics such as base stations, microwave radios, AC/DC power and routers/switches, I would also use test equipment as T-Berd 5800, Anritsu, Fluke Networks to test new connections, analyze network integrity. Since our equipment were located in telecommunication towers and business rooftops I had to make sure to follow all OSHA regulations to not get flagged. I also had to participate in an on-call rotation. Highlight of the job includes climbing cell towers.

worked various positions in Walmart from Tire & Lube, Customer Service Manager and Electronics Associate. Always having a main goal in assisting the customer in whatever their needs may be. During these times having constant knowledge specifically in the electronics world always keeping up to date with technology to better myself and provide great customer service.
