It is a delicate balance to be both a director and to allow for autonomy and agency amongst capable employees but Bill somehow struck that balance with me through the various complex projects and decisions we worked through together. I learned a great deal about knowing when to take time with decisions, to weigh options, as well as how to take decisive action when an urgent matter presented itself.
