I’m a problem solver at heart.I like the challenge and like pleasing people through the entirety of the process. I like critical thinking and investigating the inner workings of issues. I easily adapt to any situation and have an unquenchable thirst to learn.In 2001 I taught myself how to design a website, how to write and read HTML, and how to use photoshop for graphic design. Today I volunteer my talents to the Northfield Labor Day committee by designing and maintaining their website.In 2015 after more than a decade of service in Security I was offered a position in Purchasing. Admittedly, I had ZERO idea what I was getting into but felt I tackle the opportunity with fresh eyes. Over the next three and half years I jumper headfirst into the position and found new ways of implementing systems for procurement and inventory as well as developing a system for managing ticket reservations for Norwich University’s Commencement. All while managing a PCARD system and performing all the “normal” duties of a Purchasing Agent.I soon took those skills I had learned to the State of Vermont – Office of Purchasing and Contracting where I have been for three years. I have earned a wealth of information as it pertains to contracts, contract administration, negotiation, Participating Addendums and so much more! I have also had the opportunity to obtain specialized training both through the State as well as NASPO (The National Association of State Procurement Officials). I have earned certificates in the following:• Principles of Public Procurement - Chemeketa Community College• Introduction to Ethical Procurement• Foundations of Public Procurement• Ethical Procurement Strategies• Customer Service in Government Procurement• Better RFPs, Better ProjectsI am always looking forward to the next challenge, whether it be project-oriented or education-based. This extends beyond my career and into my personal life. I am very passionate about music (both listening to and making), my two dogs, and my amazing family (consisting of three teenagers. Two of whom are twins…talk about a challenge!)
