As an Applications Engineer, I provide professional support to NI's customers in setting up and maintaining a variety of test and measurement applications. I demonstrated an effective knowledge of software programming in various environments, configuring complex hardware systems, and assessing and meeting customer needs. Furthermore, I provided professional and technical oversight to my colleagues as one of the departments RF Technical Specialists.

My Digilent internship provided a wide array of opportunities to expand on what I learned in my engineering curriculum through hands-on projects and design. The work I did at Digilent required circuit prototyping, programming microcontrollers, printed circuit board (PCB) design, soldering, web design, and technical writing.Digilent is a subsidiary of NI.

I held a weekly lab section for the Microprocessor Systems course, instructing 20+ students. I also graded students' homework, quizzes, lab projects, and exams. Being a TA was an excellent experience for me to solidify the knowledge and experience I gained when taking the Microprocessor Systems course myself. To teach a subject and answer students' questions requires a thorough understanding of the subject.The course, EE 234, covers microprocessors, microcontrollers, and embedded systems development.

The Student Airborne Research Program is an opportunity for students participate in a major scientific campaign. Participation includes flying aboard the NASA DC-8 research aircraft to collect data on surface, atmospheric, and oceanographic processes. The remainder of the program is spent analyzing the collected data and choosing a research project that is presented at the end of the program.My research used spectral data to investigate the link between California's most recent drought and plant senescence in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The program provided me with hands-on research experience and taught me a lot about working independently but also being part of a multi-disciplinary team. The program also provided an opportunity for me to continue improving my public speaking skills.
