I am in the Analytical Chemistry / QC group. I work as a senior analytical chemist in the analytical chemistry / QC group. I am the administrator of all the GMP software in the quality control lab and I am the stability project coordinator in addition to being a member of the EHS committee. I specialize in chromatography and still get to do chiral method development which I really enjoy since that was my specialty for so many years while I was at Daicel Chiral Technologies and at Wyeth Research. In addition to running HPLC and GC analysis, I run NMR, LC/MS, and XRF. Get me an SFC and I’ll really be happy.

Technology GroupDevelop methods for preparative chiral and achiral separations using normal and reversed phaseHPLC and SFC.Perform loading experiments on analytical columns to estimate prep scale-up on HPLC and SFC.Perform overnight stability on fractions collected on analytical column.Prepare loading and stability report so that prep can be quoted for separation.Develop chiral methods on 3µ and 1.6µ columns using customer samples for analytical columnsales.Prepare method development report to send to sales staff in support of analytical column sales.Prepare weekly method development update report. Present the status of projects in the methoddevelopment lab to management and the sales team.Responsible for waste disposal, removal from lab according to state and federal regulations and theliaison with waste disposal company. Responsible to keep waste records for inspection by stateDEP or federal EPA inspection.Responsible for all aspects of maintaining the instrument computers including upgrading ofcomputers and software, backing up data and coordinating with service engineers to performroutine preventive maintenance and repairs. Operations GroupPerformed all aspects of the “FastTrac” program. The program was a fast turnaround of smallscale projects. Developed SFC methods for chiral separations and then ran them on thepreparative SFC. The fractions were checked on analytical SFC for chiral purity, dried down andreturned to the customer.Developed methods on analytical SFC for chiral separation of pharmaceutical compoundsDeveloped achiral SFC methods.Conducted small to large scale preparative HPLC/SFC separation of compounds from milligram tomulti-gram scale on 4.6mm and 1, 2, 3 and 5 cm columns.Developed methods for and carried out small scale preparative chiral and achiral separations using normal and reversed phase HPLC.Followed all Chiral Technologies SOPs.Installation of Agilent ChemStation upgrades and Agilent OpenLAB CDS software on both analyticaland preparative systems. Discovery Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Technologies, Chemical and Screening Sciences, Wyeth Research Collegeville:Assisted in establishing the application of Supercritical Fluid Chromatography for performingpreparative achiral separations in Discovery Analytical Chemistry increasing use of SFC from <1% to >50% for achiral separations allowing for much faster sample turnaround times.Performed over one hundred chiral enantiomeric purity assessments during a 24 month period;performed the preparative purification of over 250 chiral and achiral samples during the same timeperiod.Worked with management to achieve the department mission objectives, including actively pursuing new methods, techniques, and instrumentation for the department, improving throughput and efficiency with automation and new technology.Performed HPLC and GC purity analyses.Accountable for networking and upkeep of instrumentation computers and software.Responsible for keeping five Waters open access LC/MS instrument operating efficiently.
