Recent work includes:• Designed and implemented optimal global structure for U.S. multinational technology company, including setup of European holding company and IP migration; • Designed and implemented global restructuring for Central American company with U.S. shareholders to obtain qualified dividend income treatment upon ultimate repatriation of earnings; • Advised numerous inbound clients on choice of entity selection and related U.S. tax considerations;• Check-the-Box (CTB) planning and related U.S. tax considerations for various foreign and U.S. entities; • U.S. withholding tax liability and reporting issues, including partnership and FDAP income withholding; • FATCA reporting, including IRS Form W-8BEN-E; • Advised various U.S. resident and non-resident taxpayers on available options to file delinquent tax returns and FBARs, including the Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Program (OVDP) and the new Streamlined Filing Compliance Procedures; • Reviewed numerous U.S. tax returns with required international tax filings, including IRS Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 5472, and 926.
