Region 2 Emergency Management Coordinator
Tallahassee, Florida, United States
Transferred to State of Florida Region 2 holding the same position and title. The Region Coordinator (RC) is a member of the Regional Coordination Team (RCT), a group of qualified individuals within the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM), who are assigned to a specific geographic region of Florida. As Region 2 Emergency Management Coordinator, I'm the Division’s liaison to the local governments and communities. RC’s are the first line of support to the community on all emergency management issues including local plan development, contract/grant and mitigation information. RC's interact with the communities on a daily basis to ensure coordination with the State in all five mission areas of emergency management (prevention, protection, mitigation, response and recovery). RC's primary function during disaster/incident events is to provide assistance, guidance and technical support to County Emergency Management (EM) officials while ensuring the State Emergency Response Team (SERT) Chief is provided timely notification of operational status and anticipated resource request that the impacted area may have. Each event within the state creates a set of unique circumstance – and thus a unique response.Region 2 covers Jackson, Calhoun, Gulf, Gadsden, Leon, Liberty, Franklin, Wakulla and Jefferson counties in the State of Florida.
