The through line in my career is creating content and products that make a thoughtful, powerful connection with a specific audience. In 2010, I co-founded Perch Furniture on a simple premise: everyone deserves perfect furniture. At Perch we build custom upholstered furniture (think sofas, sectionals, chairs and beds). I manage marketing and operations and love helping as many people as possible find the perfect furniture for their home, vacation rental or office. Prior to starting Perch I worked as a science writer and organic vegetable gardening educator. I authored the book Grow Cook Eat: A Food-Lover's Guide to Vegetable Gardening and worked as the West Coast Editor of Organic Gardening magazine. At Organic Gardening, I wrote, edited and developed content for the magazine and related websites and e-newsletters; managed relationships with freelancers and scouted the West for article ideas, profile subjects, and photoshoot locations. I created a blog, DigginFood, which served up organic kitchen gardening and cooking inspiration, served as the vegetable gardening expert for Greendays, a weekly call-in radio program hosted by Seattle's NPR station, KUOW, and taught vegetable gardening classes around the country.Specialties: Content editing and developmentHTML, Mac and PC proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet Explorer, Outlook and the Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
