Senior Philanthropic Adviser
CurrentSenior Philanthropic Adviser provides leadership, direction, advisement, service, fund development coordination and regulatory compliance oversight to new and existing Supporting Foundations and other significant funds of the GMF. Assists donors, trustees and prospects in finding the most ethical, appropriate and effective manner in which to fulfill their philanthropic goals through the GMF.Currently leading a team of 2 employees, serves as the Relationship Manager in Milwaukee’s suburban communities with a portfolio of community foundations including the Greater Cedarburg Foundation, Oconomowoc Area Foundation and the West Bend Community Foundation. Oversaw asset growth at the GMF’s Supporting Organizations from $40 million to over $100 million from 2011 to 2022. Contribute to $700M Milwaukee for All Campaign with a team asset goal of $70,000,000 cash and $50,000,000 in future promises on an annual basis. • Serves as the key Relationship Manager for the foundation's Supporting Organizations (SO), which includes managing a portfolio of donors and prospects and initiating activities to ensure exceptional relationships• Coordinates the full scope of services GMF provides for Supporting Organizations through effective client management• Ensures that all Supporting Organization activities comply with donor intent and are within laws, rules, regulations, by-laws and policies• Consults with donors, their advisers, General Counsel, the IRS, and others with the purpose of identifying opportunities for fund development and encouraging new Supporting Organization creation• Active facilitator and participant in monthly department Race, Equity and Inclusion workshops• Promotes collaborative grant making and participates in formulation of collaborative grant making plans to maximize community impact• Manages the consistent application of policies and procedures for Supporting Organizations pertaining to all aspects of fund management
