About Will Wacklin

I am passionate about the field of Social Work, particularly in working with children, youth, vulnerable and hard-to-serve populations who do not frequently access all community resources available. I have developed my knowledge of youth and housing resources in Ottawa, strengthened my written and verbal communication skills, and completed key trainings including Crisis Intervention and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. My previous roles at the Salvation Army, the Door Youth Centre and the Boys & Girls Club have further enhanced my interpersonal and leadership skills including my strong ability to build rapport and form bonds with youth. I also worked to develop a Podcast Program for the Boys & Girls Club, leveraging my former career and knowledge in radio broadcasting.I am also passionate about sports for as long as I can remember and my interest has only grown since I began studying radio broadcasting. During my time at Bell Media, I started a basketball podcast "3 in the Key", it is currently a radio show on TSN 1200 in Ottawa.
