This internship was part of the Analytics & Research in Government (ARG) program. I built a microsimulation model to forecast how the ministry's legal aid debt balance will change over time and how that will respond to different policy settings. I used SQL to clean the datasets & taught myself SAS to build the model. The results from the model were presented to stakeholders within the justice sector as well as managers and representatives from other ministries.

In this project, I worked with two other interns to do consulting work for Sudo-code, a start-up company. They specialise in machine learning and want to know where it can be most valuable. Our role was researching the economic value of machine learning and examining industries where Sudo-Code could be most useful. This involved literature review, analysis of machine learning, and recommendations of which industries Sudo-Code should look to move into.
