I grew up in rural Alabama, and I was always interested in media work. I'd pretend to be a sportscaster or a filmmaker. I kept those interests up while I attended college at Auburn University and broke into the radio business shortly afterward. While in radio, I did almost every job there that could be done - on-air talent, commercial production, copywriting, ad traffic, music programming, sports-talk, public affairs management, blogger for the station's website, and more. I also hosted live events and worked with audio engineering for events hosted by others.I moved to Georgia and soon began working with Red Bee Media, where I started out as a live subtitler. Soon, I was elevated to subtitling team leader and then to production manager. As production manager, I oversee the closed captioning services for various broadcast and media clients, ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency. I have more than five years of experience in this role, and more than seven years in the broadcasting industry.I also took a side job writing for the Atlanta Braves-focused Sports Illustrated website, where I helped cover the team during its 2023 season. I wrote about individual games and worked on longer-form pieces about the state of baseball in the current sports media client and the new rules the league had introduced. I also have a personal website - octopus-man.com - where I publish articles on topics of interest to me - sports, film, TV, science and science-fiction, comic books, and more.I have a background in multiple disciplines, including copywriting, commercial production, and radio broadcasting. I have written and produced creative content for various platforms. I have also demonstrated my technological proficiency and problem-solving skills in managing live and pre-recorded captioning projects. My goal is to deliver exceptional broadcasting solutions that engage and inform the audiences.
