I am an author, content creator, and editor from the UK, specialising in written and video content. My full-time work involves writing and editing original content about literature and travel, as well as writing, filming, and editing YouTube content. I also freelance as a book editor.As a freelance writer, I have been published in New Scientist and Tokyo Weekender magazines, as well as online publications such as IGN, BookBrowse, and The Culture Trip.I co-founded and manage the travel and culture site, Books and Bao, which primarily focusses on travel across East Asia and Europe, content related to East Asian culture (such as food and languages) and literature in translation. My main responsibilities for our site include writing weekly book reviews and listicles, as well as travel advice and recommendations.Alongside the website, I also host the YouTube channel, Willow Talks Books, where I write, film, and edit weekly videos. The focus of my content is on literature, with the majority of my videos being book reviews, lists, recommendations, and topical discussions.My debut collection of short stories, Managing and Other Lies, was published in July 2024.I also specialise in SEO strategy, having optimised my own site to ensure consistently high ranking on Google. I have also provided advice and consultations to other writers, editors, and bloggers to help their site perform to a higher standard.Before working as a content creator, I worked full-time as a high school English teacher in the UK and then a TEFL teacher in China, Korea, and Japan. It was living in East Asia and my experience with teaching reading and writing skills which inspired me to create my own blog and start a career as a professional writer.My primary passion is literature. I am an avid reader of literary and genre fiction with a keen love for translated world fiction, especially novels from Japan and Korea.
