• Highlight how the expanded child tax credit provides stability, economic security, and dignity for children and families and expands opportunity for Black and brown families
• Mobilized a coalition to defend against budget cuts that would have harmed children and families; most of the priorities we called for ended up in the final 2022-23 Ohio budget
• Advocate to make child care affordable to all who need it. Ultimately, lawmakers expanded access to an estimated 6,000 children, providing more families with economic security
• Develop policy recommendations to stabilize families, ensure Ohioans can continue to put food on the table, and maintain our child care infrastructure in response to COVID-19 and the economic crisis
• Represent Policy Matters Ohio with allied organizations, coalitions, journalists, state lawmakers, and the DeWine administration to advance our agenda

• Secured $316,150 in 2016, $319,750 in 2017, and $329,500 in 2018 from foundations
• Cultivated donors and foundation funders by highlighting the impact of our work through grant reports and partner reports
• Created and maintained databases to evaluate program outcomes for grant reports by analyzing participant data (pre- and post-tests) in Excel
• Planned and implemented programming around storytelling and grassroots fundraising
• Managed grant proposals, grant reporting, small-dollar individual donor campaign, in coordination and consultation with management, development, communications, and program teams

I ran for Columbus City Council in 2015 and 2017. I ran, because I believe all of us deserve safety, security, and the opportunity to contribute to our neighborhood. Columbus can be a city where we all make a decent wage, pay for the basics, and have the opportunity to spend time with the people we love.We don't all currently have that opportunity..

Will Petrik joined Advocates for Ohio’s Future (AOF) in October 2010 as the first Outreach Director. In the most challenging budget environment in state history, the coalition secured an additional $101 million for services that strengthen families and communities in the FY2012-13 budget. After Will became State Director of the coalition, he helped lead.

Researched, identified and conducted outreach to speakers via email and phone for nonprofit leadership speaker series

• Managed four campaigns, an internship seminar, 9 interns, and was responsible for building relationships with faculty, administrators and student groups
• Got results: 294 items of food and clothing donated, 8 community leaders recruited to be on the Panel for a Sustainable Community with 75 people in attendance, collected over 675 signatures and built a coalition of 8.
• Directed a WashPIRG internship seminar, which covered trainings on recruitment, leadership development, organizational visibility, coalition building, framing campaigns, and working with the media

• Recruited, trained, and oversaw over 25 Campus Coordinators across the country, who established the Resolve to Fight Poverty Campaign and marketed the conference on their campuses.
• Coordinated national outreach for the Resolve 2009 national conference, which resulted in 250 participants from 22 different states
• Worked with student volunteers and organizations at Loyola University to manage the logistics for the conference, including reserving space, coordinating meals, securing free housing

Developed relationships with leaders from labor, small business and faith based communities through through one-on-one interviews and house meetings and encouraged them to take action in the health care reform debate and Employee Free Choice Act

Researched, edited, and wrote articles and press releases regarding US foreign relations with Central and South America in topics such as trade, immigration, energy, and indigenous affairs.

Researched policy and institutional impacts resulting from "21st Century Town Meetings" and summarized findings for a marketing document.
