Leading the specification and delivery of the DigiTech Centre, a new nationally significant ICT research and training facility within the Eastern region. We are transforming the landscape of digital tech by bringing together the UK’s largest digital and telecom services provider BT, the Adastral Park business community, and the University of Suffolk as one of the fast-developing Universities of the region.

I designed and delivered BT's internationally recognised SME integrator/accelerator programme, focused on delivering business value through partnership with Start-up / Scale-up companies. Technology Scouting UK / EMEA and beyond. Mission: to detect, analyse and deliver technology integration & commercial exploitation over portfolio investment. Key activities: Technology scouting, technical due diligence, strategy development, stakeholder management, customer trials, proposition development, partnership negotiation.I ran 15 co-horts spanning B2C & B2B proposition areas inc. Public Sector & Defence(JHUB). Special projects initiative sponsored by the Group Strategy & CTO office. Group-wide innovation programme designed to identify and incubate nascent but potentially transformational business opportunities. Mission: quantify and exploit disruptive innovation both in emerging technology and commercial proposition/business model development.Key activities included: strategy, business development, and programme management. Thought leadership for senior executives (CEO / MD ) across all business disciplines. I created and managed virtual commercial & technical teams to deliver business strategy and investment proposals. Projects included: mobile payments, digital identity, business intelligence, NFC, Network Virtualisation (NFV), Content Delivery Networks (Wholesale Content Connect) and GIPX (Global IP Exchange) & Smart Metering (Arquiva partnership).In 2012 I was monitoring global accelerator programmes and was closely engaged with the UK TechCity ecosystem and engaging directly with Incubator / Start-up communities. In March 2013 I took a proposal to the BT Retail CEO / LT to establish a formal programme to engage, support and build value from partnerships with start-up / scale-up SME companies.

Technology Scouting within the Chief Technology Office. I lead and inspired innovation across multiple business units. External focus to identify and benchmark world-class technology companies. Lead on proposition development through to ITT and vendor selection activities for products e.g. BT digital vault. Proposition definition typically included: market assessment, value chain and ecosystem definition, competitive landscape, technology partnerships, proposition roadmap and financials to clearly articulate complex business opportunities. Additionally, I was instrumental in re-launching the BT New Ideas Scheme, a platform to crowdsource ideas from BT people and inspire an “intrepreneur” culture. The scheme has been recognised externally with Platinum accreditation from IdeasUK.
