I managed developments on the University's expansive Contensis based public-facing website, including accessibility enhancements. I led up the devs within the Digital (Web) team, line managing 2 other developers.

Worked on the DataHub platform which delivers information to insurance companies at point-of-quote. Consumption of SOAP and REST APIs in PHP. Also built RESTful microservices (for consumption by DataHub) in PHP7.

Responsible for technical innovations at Zipvit, primarily the development of the Magento platform at the heart of the company's information systems. Built a Stock Management system in CodeIgniter which communicated via the Magento SOAP API.

I was a key member of the newly formed online services team within the company. Our team brought in-house a couple of lacklustre brochure-style websites and created a direct selling e-commerce platform. The result was a rich e-commerce website (Magento) tightly integrated with a heavily customised WordPress back-end.

At PineGreen I worked on projects as diffuse as a Database System for Home 3 (a division of Mapfre Insurance), a web application used by children to share stories against a world map and a custom T-Shirt printing e-commerce application.Most applications were LAMP-based, utilising the CodeIgniter framework (for larger developments) and WordPress (for more ‘standard’ requirements). Git and BitBucket were used for version control.As well as functioning as a Developer, through PineGreen I had the opportunity to teach children web design through a partnership with a local school, and also worked with Sheffield Hallam University providing web workshops and advisory sessions for entrepreneurs.

I made myself available on a freelance basis to perform development work. The work involved integrating with a number of organisations – typically adding to or extending existing bespoke PHP systems, but I also built an e-commerce system from the ground up with PayPal and Sagepay integration.

Internship. I held responsibility for development of the PHP and MySQL systems for the websites designed by the two graphic designers who worked for the company.
