I am a chartered Structural Engineer (MIStructE) working in the Humanitarian Sector. I have a Master degree in Civil Engineering from University College London, and a post graduate Masters in Sustainability Leadership (Interdisciplinary Design in the Built Environment) from University of Cambridge. My current role as an Associate Director of Climate and Engineering Programmes at RedR UK, a capacity strengthening organisation working in crises across the globe, allows me to use my technical engineering background and experience of the private sector to empower local humanitarian responders to minimise the impact of disasters.Before joining RedR I was recognised for my work on Climate Action with the IStructE’s Young Structural Engineering Professional Award in 2021, and with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership’s scholarship for Outstanding Academic Ability in 2020. I strongly believe that engineers have a vital role to play in tackling both the emissions driving the Climate Emergency, and the adaptive measures needed to respond to the rapidly changing climate.
