I have been with Faith Technologies for 26 years. I started as an electrical helper in February 1996. In August of the same year I began my apprenticeship with ABC, and completed the program in August 2001. Since my completion of the Apprenticeship program I have worked for and with many great skilled craftsmen paving the way to my current position. As Site Superintendent I am responsible for all electrical activities including safety, training, estimating, scheduling, material and tool procurement, and communication. Job site safety is the most important responsibility of my daily supervisory tasks; safety is a culture or way of life; the first thing we think about. As a leader I give clear instructions on work tasks and make sure that the tasks are carried out safely and efficiently with my door always open for questions. As a mentor I guide and give advice for development and individual personal improvement. As a teacher I show or instruct how the task should be performed and always provide encouragement and feedback. As a coach I create confidence within the apprentice through vision and inspiration and let the apprentice know that they play a key role in the company’s overall success and they too have the opportunity to become a leader. As a role model I make sure the apprentices have someone to look up to for guidance and support for whatever challenge might present itself. My career aspirations remain the same weather in the field or assuming the role of a leader. Foremost, lead by example, teach and mentor others on their path through career development. Do what I love and love what I do. And lastly, to have a high level of passion for my job and maintain sustainable personal life/work balance.
