I oversee the Legal 500's directory coverage of the self-employed advocacy profession in all jurisdictions with an independent Bar in four guides. I both act as project manager for the Bar coverage, involving around 25 researchers, as well as year-round line manager of a number of deputy editors, editors and senior researchers. I am also involved in the events side of the business, acting as the primary host of the Legal 500 Bar awards, one of the largest events of its type in the legal industry in London, as well as hosting a number of episodes of the Legal 500 podcast.Prior to my appointment as Bar editor in January 2021, I spent six years as a deputy editor, senior researcher and researcher, carrying out the research for sections of the guide in eighteen jurisdictions across three continents (highlights including key markets in Asia, the Middle East and Offshore, as well as the London criminal Bar).

In a matrix management system, I both act as project manager for the Bar coverage, involving around 25 researchers, as well as year-round line manager of a number of deputy editors, editors and senior researchers. The flagship of this is the coverage of the Bar of England and Wales, with over 60 practice area by practice area sections in London plus detailed circuit-by-circuit coverage, as well as international coverage spanning Asia, the Middle East and Offshore, as well as the Hong Kong Bar. This means I am the primary on-stage talent of one of the largest legal awards in the United Kingdom, the Legal 500 Bar awards. I also have interviewed figures including a former solicitor-general, former Supreme Court judge, a former Director of Public Prosecutions and two Specialist Bar Association heads, for the Legal 500 Podcast.My additional responsibilities include maintaining relationships, from an editorial perspective, with the self-employed Bar, and on a more operational level, I retain responsibility for editing the vast majority of this copy.
