William Traenkle knows technology and has dedicated his life to helping others take advantage of all that modern innovations can provide. He graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where he also supported and managed the school’s IT infrastructure and co-developed the campuses first Cisco Networking Lab curriculum. He consulted for top accounting firm Ernst and Young, audited one of Intel’s datacenters and technology systems and helped start a data intelligence spin-off of Xerox. He built and deployed a nationwide encrypted email system for a well-known Texas corporation and developed a custom web-based search and matching application to match executive level doctors with the top five biopharmaceutical companies in the world. William wanted to share his technology expertise with small and growing businesses in need of quality, affordable IT solutions so he founded Traenkle Networks in 2000. In 2004 he moved the business to San Diego and incorporated it in 2010 under the DBA Tranquilnet IT Solutions. In 2018 a mutual friend introduced William to Mike Promotico of Protel Communications, one of the largest Mitel VARs in the country. Mike and William realized quickly that they both had the same vision, goals and values so they worked out an agreement for Protel to acquire Tranquilnet, made William CTO of Protel Communications and put him in charge of all things “Cloud”. When he is not developing a new solution or solving an issue, William is committed to a healthy lifestyle by staying active through H.I.T. training, hiking, camping, marathons, triathlons and other outdoor activities.
