I recently graduated from SMU with a major in Finance and a minor in Italian. During my time there, I was accepted into the prestigious Alternative Asset Management (ALTS) program, which I completed in my junior year. My interest in private equity was sparked after my first internship with Blue Atlas Partners following my sophomore year, where I gained an in-depth understanding of the investment banking and private equity world. The ALTS program allowed me to experience life as an IB analyst, further developing my skills in creating slide decks and financial models.This hands-on experience proved invaluable during my internship with Clavis Capital Partners, a lower-middle-market private equity firm in Dallas. There, I worked on identifying potential acquisitions, reviewing confidential information memorandums (CIMs), and producing financial and data analytical deliverables for deals under a letter of intent (LOI).Growing up in Milwaukee, WI, I was surrounded by business from an early age, thanks to my dad’s career in selling and managing CNC machines. However, it wasn’t until my recruitment for the ALTS program that my passion for finance—particularly private equity—truly flourished. I took a chance on applying and quickly realized it was one of the best decisions I made in college. The more I studied and gained hands-on experience, the more I realized how exciting and fulfilling a career in private equity could be. As I approach the end of my senior year, I’m eager to continue learning and to secure a role in private equity after graduation.Outside of academics and work, I’m an avid sports fan and athlete, with golf, football, and basketball being my favorites. I also enjoy snowboarding, surfing, and traveling. On road trips, you’ll often find me tuned into Bruce Springsteen radio as I explore new places.
