As technical lead and architect of the BigData team, I designed and architected ServiceNow homegrown data visualization platform (StatsNow). StatsNow is an internal self-service data discovery, reporting and alerting platform used by various StatsNow organizations on daily basis, it solved the challenge of high demand of data reporting and monitoring as the business of ServiceNow grows rapidly. In two years, I started from first line of code, worked with 10+ engineers cross location and functions, drove and grew it as platform with thousands of daily access and thousands of user generated dashboards. Key technologies used: JavaScript, ReactJS, Webpack, NodeJS, Java, SpringBoot, Tomcat, MySQL, Impala.

As technical leader and architect of the BI platforms team in Fanatics, I drove and grew the BI and Data Visualization platforms from single node MicroStrategy and Tableau environment to open source solutions hybrid and distributed large scale of systems on AWS serving 1000+ Users.- Designed and Architected the Fanatics homegrown visualization platform - FanViz, which is a metadata driven, self-service and secured data visualization platform with high performance, scalability and availability on AWS. - Architected the enterprise BI platforms MicroStrategy and Tableau. Lead the platform upgrades for both software and hardware. - Designed and optimized the deployment architecture and automation for the platforms in AWS, considering platforms scalability, performance, security and cost effective. - Build tools, monitoring and automation for platforms operation intelligence.

- Lead the eBay CCOE (China Center of Excellence) BI Platform Team and focus on administration, architect and engineering of MicroStrategy, Tableau platforms.- Developed the open source visualization platform on top of MicroStrategy. The visualization platform takes the advantage of the high flexibility and performance of JavaScript Visualization (e.g. D3, Google Charts, Epoch, Highcharts) and the solid fundamental (Metadata, GUI interface of dashboard design, caching, security, etc) of MicroStrategy platform which enable users who have no technical background, are able to build JavaScript based visualization dashboards with high performance, stability and scalability by simple drags and drops. Any open source and 3rd party JavaScript visualization is able to be integrated by the framework as a reusable components. (We have enabled D3, JQuery, Google Chart, Epoch and Highcharts so far, but not limit to). And the visualization platform support dynamic visualization for frequent updated data as well. I am the main architect and developer of the platform.

- MicroStrategy Administrator and Architect- Developed MicroStrategy web tracking plugin.As the only developer of this project, I designed and implemented the web plugin which can track all the performance and behavior statistic of each MicroStrategy web page view. With the data tracked, we are able to analyze and real time monitor page usage, performance, user behavior, reliability, etc. to better how the platform is being used and what to improve the platform. - Developed a web plugin to enable a user account on the fly when a disabled user access MSTR web. eBay is disabling users' accounts if the user is not active over certain days. So before I created this plugin, if a disable user wanted to access MSTR again, the user would have to file an internal ticket and it would usually be processed by days to get the account re-enabled. To improve the user experience, I created the plugin, so when a disabled user access MSTR web, it will be detected automatically and the user account can be enabled on the fly.

- MicroStrategy Administrator and Architect a) MicroStrategy operation and customer support. b) Troubleshooting for platform issues. c) Performance Tuning. d) Platform Upgrade.- Developed web plugin to integrated MicroStrategy Web with Datahub. Datahub is the one-stop-shop web portal of eBay data products and analytics tools. I customized MSTR reports and vi pages with MSTR web SDK and made the look and feel of MSTR web pages consistent with Datahub. Also I changed the workflow of the SAVE functionality of report and VI pages in Datahub and when a user clicks the SAVE button, the MD of the newly saved content will be posted to Datahub automatically. - Designed and Developed MicroStrategy SSMT (Self-Service Migration tool)SSMT is a self-service web tool, which automates MSTR object move, integrates Integrity Manager regression testing, and manages eBay MSTR objects promotion policy. The tool was implemented by HTML/Java/System Manager/Object Manager/ Command Manager. Before I created this tool, we had a dedicated object move team in eBay who handled all the object move requests manually. With the Self-Service tool I created, object moves can be done by BI developer themselves in a self-service way, without granting them administrator privilege of production. Hence resources of the dedicated object move teams was able to be saved. - Participated in developing MSTR Comments and Annotation Widgets.The widgets enable users to write, edit and delete comments in MSTR flash dashboards for a visualization graph, or a particular data point in a graph. The widgets were developed by Flash SDK and Web Task SDK, I was mainly working on the backend with the Web Task SDK.- Participated in developing MSTR API Services. MSTR API services is part of the service layer of eBay BI Platforms, which exposes platform operational tasks and metadata in RESTful web services.

- Participated in eBay Trust and Safety project and worked on MicroStrategy reports and dashboards developments for key TnS metrics. - Designed and Developed a visualization widget (Multi-Level Pie Chart Widget) with MicroStrategy Flex SDK, which can support multiple attributes (either in same dimension or not) in one pie chart and represent a second metrics with the color of each block. I am the only developer who designed and developed the visualization widget.
