During my internship at Secureworks, I worked on an industry-focused project that involved researching publicly reported cybersecurity data breaches across different industries and sectors in Australia.The key activities I undertook as part of this project included:1. Establishing a comprehensive data collection of cybersecurity data breaches, which I then analyzed to understand the main trends and patterns.2. Providing an overview of the unique vulnerabilities within several industries, such as Finance, Utilities, and Retail, based on the insights gained from the data analysis.3. Producing detailed case studies on notable data breaches that occurred across Australia and globally. These case studies helped to capture the threats, motives, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) used in the cyber-attacks, as well as the countermeasures employed by the affected organizations.The findings from this research project are expected to be used by the Secureworks team to effectively communicate the identified vulnerabilities to their customers. This will enable Secureworks to have informed discussions with their clients about how they can assist in mitigating these cybersecurity threats.
