Rejoined the division to undertake the planning and conduct of Household Expenditure Survey 2023. Lead several workgroups in the planning stages to conduct reviews of conceptual frameworks, develop the data processing system and integration with administrative sources. Also leading the data request team which supports users in HES related data requirements. Some of my main responsibilities and accomplishments for the project include:- Spearheading efforts to use technologies (Machine Learning, Optical Character Recognition) to enhance the data processing process- Provide useful insights and consultancy to support government agencies in policy formulation through data requests- Identified new administrative sources to improve the quality of the survey returns and reduce respondent burden

Maintained and updated the databases for use in longitudinal analytics studies. Worked with various government agencies to support evidence-based policymaking in a wide range of demographic, social and economic topics using econometrics models and machine learning methods. Techniques used and applications include:• Identification of risk factors using survival analysis• Examine effectiveness of policies using propensity score matching• Creating of archetypes using cluster analysis

Hired as a statistician to support the Household Expenditure Survey 2012/13 (HES 2012/13) in areas of planning, questionnaire design, data collection, fieldwork, data processing, publicity and data release. Conducted international benchmarking and implemented improvements for the HES. Promoted to the position of assistant director after 2 years and 8 months.Some of my main responsibilities and accomplishments for the project include:• Supervised and coached a team of 8-10 field interviewers and Regional Office Clerk in the conduct of HES in the East region to ensure high response rate and good data quality.• Generate customized tables from past and current household expenditure survey database using SAS for data requests by government and public users• Participated in various inter-ministry workgroups to advise on data availability and provided consultancy in area of survey methodology• Benchmarked the treatment of data items and data processing against other national statistics offices around the world
