At the Clinical Brain Lab at NTU, I am currently investigating the effects of an exercise intervention programme on cognition in the elderly in Singapore, using the combined modalities of TMS-EEG to measure brain plasticity throughout the course of the intervention.I am also involved in an educational neuroscience project seeking to develop a visualisation website (using ReactJS) to present neuroscience findings on autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder to educators. The goal of this website is to allow educators to better understand the brain-behaviour relationships in adults with ASD/ADHD, by helping to visualise the brain regions/networks with their associated behavioural functions.

- Worked with other students and staff at the UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience to plan and organise the biennial conference based on the theme “Brains in a COVID world”- Co-chaired a conversation discussion with Prof. Sarah Garfinkel on the science of human connection and COVID-19

- Liaised with various partnered universities’ Singapore societies within Greater London and southern England- Organised events to facilitate and promote inter-society collaborations and interactions among partner societies, and to provide a platform for Singaporean students to reach out to one another

- Undertook independent research on the psychological impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in individuals- Produced two research reports for dissemination to government ministries, which examined the psychological impacts on unemployed individuals and ways to manage them using a novel framework, and the psychological impacts of short and long-term work adjustments in the workforce- Facilitated the inaugural HTBSC Webinar series, which included managing the webinar sessions/dry runs across 3 sets of speakers over 3 days, and resolving technical/logistical issues on Zoom

- Wrote articles on self-chosen areas of interest in psychology, such as the psychology of music and emotions, for the UCL Psychology Society’s student blog

- Conducted introductory data analyses on quantitative questionnaire data collected from the MYRIAD (My Resilience in Adolescence) project pertaining to mindfulness- Undertook independent cursory literature reviews on the topic, thereafter producing a report detailing the relevant background studies, as well as the results obtained after conducting data analyses- Reviewed and edited code in R to process raw questionnaire data collected from the MYRIAD project- Worked with members of the lab in day-to-day administrative tasks, as well as helping to set up the inaugural Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience (ICN) Masters’ Symposium with another member of the lab

- Tutored and facilitated academic support sessions for students taking the GCSE ‘O’ Levels as well as the International Baccalaureate on subjects such as Chemistry and Mathematics- Juggled concurrent duties of lesson preparation, teaching and marking under minimal supervision- Increased students’ confidence and ability in tackling Chemistry and Mathematics, by engaging them though guided lessons and support sessions within a small-group setting of 2 to 5 students

- Undertook independent qualitative research on the behaviour of medical staff in the emergency department during critical emergency situations, and the potential emotional and medical impacts on patients as a result- Initiated and spearheaded the thematic analysis of qualitative observational data by coding them using a novel framework, thereafter presenting the final analyses to the lead researchers and the team - Worked as a team to further refine the framework for focused analysis of qualitative observational data- Conducted structured interviews with 5-10 hospital staff as part of the data collection phase of the project- Processed a large database of video, audio and observational data using different computer software- Interacted with doctors and shadowed them during their rounds to understand their work processes and interpersonal habits

- Managed shift schedules of other soldiers, rostering them for shift duties on a day-to-day basis- Liaised with superiors to conduct high-key events, such as security sweeps and security checks - Worked efficiently to process daily administrative tasks and ad-hoc assignments- Reliably manned security equipment, ensuring prohibited items were not brought into the premises
