Transitioning from a technical accountant role to front office recruitment is to this day in the top 3 most challenging goals achieved in my professional career. The learning curve was steep. I enjoyed the challenge, starting out to build a contract book from scratch to achieve the largest book ever managed in the business. St.George, part of the Westpac Group, is one of Australia’s leading Retail and Business Banking brands.A search consultant presented a challenging opportunity to work with the Group Finance team with responsibility for managing the preparation and conversion from AGAAP to AIFRS reporting for the St George Group. This was a huge opportunity for me to learn how to manage senior stakeholders and consolidate my technical accounting knowledge from my audit days at KPMG. I also represented St George at the Australian Bankers Association meetings on AIFRS

My first role in the commercial banking world. Securitisation is a business I am very interested in since my days auditing aircraft leasing companies in Shannon, Ireland with KPMG. Macquarie presented an opportunity to work with the management reporting team to partner with the business and provide financial information to drive growth in the mortgage securitisation business, which was then part of the banking group, now BFS.

Completed my ACA training contract with KPMG working within Financial Services Audit, primarily on assurance engagements with Banking Clients.
