I consider myself a technologist at heart and a manager/consultant by profession. I spent 15 years in Silicon Valley working in various capacities including general management, R&D, consulting, and product development. As a consultant with Hitachi Consulting and Deloitte, I advise financial services clients (both public and private sectors) with their business transformation needs. I have also done 2 startups which provided me with invaluable experiences. Over 20 years of my career, I have acquired the full gamut of skills from business planning to execution. I am an expert in the use of open data standards and global best practices of risk management and accounting frameworks which include Basel II/III, Solvency II (capital requirement and ORSA), BCBS 239, Dodd Frank, AEOI/CRS/FATCA, and XBRL – for regulatory compliance/supervision, risk management, and business/sustainability reporting. I have worked extensively with different technologies and managed many projects – large and small. My specialties include technology innovation, ideation and incubation, and business-IT value creation. My passion is using technology innovation to build new applications and create values for companies and organizations. As a manager, I consistently receive feedback that I am an inspiring mentor and builder of high performance team. I have grown and managed cross-cultural and geographical teams. Besides English, I am also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. I am a Canadian citizen and a US permanent resident with extensive connection to the Far East.
