As a research assistant, I was responsible for supporting the ongoing economic research of affiliated faculty and research fellows at the Free Market Institute.My work consists of:• Data Collection and Data Extraction - Extracted data from public databases and historical balance sheets to construct novel datasets for use in the analysis of historical banking practices, Federal Reserve policy, and government spending.• Data cleaning and Manipulation - Proficient in the use of R (Tidyverse) and Python (pandas, numpy) to clean datasets• Statistical Analysis and Modeling - Applied and developed statistical models to conduct research on economic policy (with a focus on quasi-experimental methods and logistic regression).• Data Visualization - Use of R - ggplot2 to create visual representations of research findings for conference presentations.• Communication and Instruction - Responsible for the presentation of ongoing research to other academic professionals and the instruction of undergraduate economics courses on subjects such as monetary theory, microeconomics, and business economics.
