This work is often equal parts technical and cultural: in an ideal engagement, I’m not only there to audit and fix their performance, accessibility, and usability pain points, but to help establish workflows, development habits, and support systems that will allow the results to persist long after I’m gone.

I was responsible for overseeing Bocoup’s Inclusive Web Development offering, providing dedicated consulting and training on accessibility, performance, and responsive web design “best practices” for client teams, as well as providing guidance, mentoring, and direction for internal teams working on client-facing projects.

During my time at Filament Group, I was able to play a small role in the establishment of responsive web design as a design and development practice. My time included working alongside Ethan Marcotte on the responsive Boston Globe project—a successful effort to prove that responsive web design was a viable approach at scale.

I began my time at Brunello Creative as an intern, brought in to assist with their new web design and development offerings—a trial-by-fire approach to learning web design and front-end development. I was offered a paid full-time position after just a few weeks as an intern. Later—as dedicated web-focused staff grew—I was promoted to lead developer.
