Fire Alarm Technician
CurrentMaintains and repairs the fire alarms systems in the Centralized Facilities department. Ensures all systems are working and documents problems as needed. During routine testing will oversee non-certified technicians. Adheres to all associated regulatory agencies. Actively participates in the creation of an environment that fosters patient, family,and staff satisfaction.Maintains and inspects the entire fire alarm system including electrical releasing devices.Maintains and inspects emergency services notification transmission equipment.Coordinates testing and maintains documentation for sprinkler main drain test, kitchen auto extinguishing systems, and horizontal and vertical roller/sliding doors.During routine testing, oversees and verifies competencies of individuals assisting in the testing of the system.Bachelors' degree in related subject matter (Ex. electronic technology) with equivalent experience ( 22 years).Thorough knowledge of NFPA codes and standards.NICET certification Level II Alarm and Detection.Current certification with the State of Ohio in the category of Fire alarm / Detection. Also have Michigan License to perform Fire Alarm service, inspection, and installs.Use full body motion, ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching, climbing ladders; Also, dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery; typically required to lift carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100lb. Great color acuity sufficient to distinguished color-coded signage and systems.Read and interpret blue prints.Manage multi-site locations to provide site's support along with system responsibilities. Ability to perform tasks with associated deadlines.Ability to prioritize assigned work and development of a schedule.Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
