Research focus: Nutrient cycling within the soil-vegetation continuum.Responsibilities and achievements: - Led an effort to synthesise 50 years of ecological monitoring at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest (NH, USA) with a specific focus on Si dynamics.- Conducted environmental assessments based on soil and pore water chemistry for different sites (e.g. Iceland, India and USA).- Developed and led cutting-edge research projects from start to finish- Dissemination of research results on meetings, workshops, conferences and scientific journals.- Guidance and supervision of master (MSc) and doctoral (PhD) students

Assisted (part-time) with geodatabase management for ActivityInfo, i.e. a software product that enables non-technical practitioners (mostly NGO’s) to define their data collection formats, and analyse the results using tables, charts and maps. This included responding to user requests for improved/updated reference data.
