As a Technical Specialist the job focus has changed from implementation to design. Fulfilling the role of Technical Product owner for several applications within the domain of learning materials and metadata, some activities can be highlighted.Redesign and rebuild of the Wikiwijs Zoeken application. This involved: - simplifying the functional scope in careful consultation with stakeholders, - simplifying the technical architecture while maintaining room for expansionTaking a proactive role in Kennisnet's migration to continuous integration software release management. This required keeping in touch with developer needs, but also those of our ops team. - facilitating knowledge transfer, mainly by designing multi-role documentation - contributing to standard-component architecture, by creating standard ci-scripts but also making sure our software maximizes the use of such components.Redesign domain architecture to keep the application stack manageable. - reduce technical complexity - consolidate functionality in fewer components - align functional and technical roadmapDesign and development of software for generating educational metadata suggestions on Dutch text data.

Moving up from Implementation Engineer to Implementation Advisor, my focus expanded from Edurep to related products within our organization. This product chain includes (but not limited to) Edurep, OBK (the Dutch Educational Concept Framework), MetaPlus (allowing third-party metadata additions) and Wikiwijs (an Edurep search portal).Involved in many aspects of the implementation process of our Educational Concept Framework (OBK) in our product chain. - interfacing with the dataset; API design, vocabulary generation, user interfacing - functionally using the dataset; semantic considerations, technical aspects - dataset versioning and resulting mapping and migration processesSetting up a developers wiki for our public interfaces (http://developers.wiki.kennisnet.nl). - identifying documentation needs for involved products - modeling this to a MediaWiki structure - involving multiple internal stakeholders in maintaining their own sectionsAs a whole supporting a wide array of tasks in our product chain including: - development of tools and libraries (https://github.com/kennisnet) - identifying key problems and opportunities in operation and development

Edurep is a Dutch learning object search engine, indexing harvested learning object metadata from more than 50 different repositories. Search portal developers can interface with the search engine using the Edurep webservice, available through the SRU/SRW protocol.Primarily, my task is to consult organizations with the implementation of Edurep, either as content provider or content consumer. I am also responsible for any operational issues concerning the system, connecting the developers with the system maintainers.
