It organizes competitions, events and courses. Self-motivation is paramount. Thanks to self-motivation could present accommodations, such as floating pontoons, crane and clubhouse are realized. A cosy, historic town that is again the backdrop for the 22nd time in 2017. Maritiem 's-Hertogenbosch.The first edition of Maritime was held in 1977. From Willemstad carry some 30 ships through Geertruidenberg, Gorinchem and Heusden to 's-Hertogenbosch and in each of these places were toned nautical celebrations. This was such a success that was decided the event to repeat every two years. Over the years, the event has evolved slowly into its current form. The event in 's-Hertogenbosch became increasingly busier and busier, bigger and cosier and more and more organizations and shopkeepers took part in the festivities. In 2003, the fourteenth Maritime, there were more than 550 vessels with a full length of 7.5 kilometres, ranging from old steamships and commercial vessels to luxury cruisers and pieremachochels. The police and the press talked about more than 150,000 visitors.
