As Senior Engineer, my current role is Focal Point of a group of 3 engineers within the Flight Control Laws team, responsible for 2 main functions of the Flight Control System:- Back-up Control Law: alternate/direct law controller design on all controlled axes, including control allocation for the highly non-linear, over-actuated Propulsion Vectoring System.- Air Data Calibration: algorithm and air data calibration development for an unconventional air data system architecture.Main daily responsibilities are the technical development, project planning, and management of interfaces.

Function development for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and Fully Automated Driving. I am involved in and responsible for a wide variety of topics within ADAS and autonomous driving, mainly with BMW as the direct customer. It involves:- Algorithm design and C++ software development on on-line Lane/Road modelling using direct on-line measurement data (Lidar, Camera) from the vehicle. Algorithms deal with sensor fusion problems, occupancy grids and path planning.- Function development, control prototyping and testing for lower level functions such as Electronic Steering Support. This includes development of new functions, the software modelling and programming, and performing closed-loop driving tests at BMW proving grounds. Day-to-day systems and software used:- C++, Python, ROS- Matlab/Simulink, dSpace- CAN, Flexray

Flight Systems Dynamics

Responsible for modeling, simulation and analysis (from scretch) of a special autonomous underwater vehicle as part of the ROBEX project. Fully involved in the preliminary design process by giving feedback about the hydrodynamic performance of the vehicle and advice about design optimisation. I experienced the research environment through the collaboration with partner institutes and by presenting our work and progress at a conference in the ROBEX-community.
