Winiford N. Dunn, affectionately known as Win, is assistant vice president of Donor Relations for United Way of Greater Houston, the fourth largest United Way in the country. With more than 20 years experience, she leads a team of dedicated professional staff and several high level volunteers toward a common goal. Together, they maximize financial resources and create meaningful relationships among key stakeholders to "Do Something About It!" the United Way.Win joined United Way in 1987 as a campaign specialist and has received numerous promotions throughout her career. A few accomplishments include supporting city officials and serving on committees appointed by Mayor Bob Lanier and Governor Anne Richards to develop and implement campaigns for municipal and state employees. She has been involved with many United Way "firsts," including the orchestration of The World's Largest Human Rainbow and the Emmy-winning "One Houston United" telethon. Her work has helped to facilitate growth in giving from $30-plus million to United Way's current results of $80 million.Win is a native Houstonian with more than 30 years of experience in the field of human services. She graduated Cum Laude from Texas Southern University. Her passion is fueled by a personal knowledge of once being in a vulnerable place of needing help. She knows first hand the impact United Way makes on individual lives, and she continues to share that knowledge through her day-to-day work with others.
