I am a Year 3 Food Technology student pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology at SIT-Massey University.My passion for food started in primary school, which led to my pursuit of Food Science & Technology at Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and SIT-Masey University. I have been picking up many theoretical knowledge and practical skills in modules such as Food Chemistry, Food Safety & Microbiology and Food Formulation. In SP, I even gained the opportunity to apply my learnings in a company sponsored food development project where I had to conduct research and development trials, create packaging designs and perform shelf-life testing. Additionally, I managed to attain an internship position at International Flavours & Fragrance (IFF), where I learnt about food ingredient applications within the Culinary department. This invaluable experience led me to learn more about the development of animal and plant-based protein products through the exploration of texture, flavour, and colour. Other than academics, I have invested time in leadership roles, such as being part of SP Vocal Talents EXCO in 2022. I have also begun volunteering at Willing Hearts to help the underprivileged by assisting in food preparation and packaging. Now, my aim is to utilise my acquired knowledge from food technology and apply it effectively in a workplace environment.
