As the Voice for All Veterans, Forgotten Warrior is a non-profit agency started by Veterans to help Veterans. Forgotten Warrior offers: Veteran-to-veteran Life-coaching assists Veterans manage their PTSD without the use of alcohol, or opiate-based or pharmaceutical drugs. Jobs for Heroes assess, trains, places, and monitors the work of 200 veterans including some who have been recently released from prison. Food for Heroes serves 500 veteran families a month. Vets for Pets provides emergency pet care intervention and free vaccination referrals. Dentists for Heroes provides dental hygiene care and dental care referrals to volunteer dentists. We also provide Department of Veteran Affairs benefit application assistance.We provide direct services and collaborative referrals, and advocate for the well-being for any and all Veterans of all wars. Our Veteran-to-veteran life coaching program is designed to help Veterans understand why they suffer from PTSD, how to overcome the resulting behavior and mental health issues, and how to stop bio-chemical addictions and negative thought patterns. We help veterans address all areas of communication with their family, because we know that it is not just the Veterans who suffer from PTSD-- but the family members also. We use cognitive mental health management methods, neuroscience education, nutrition, along with other self- help tools in managing the symptoms of PTSD. Forgotten Warrior also provides case management, vital services, and referrals to the disabled, elderly, and low-cognitive functioning Veterans-- who are usually either on medication, and/or under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Veteran issues are discussed on our TV show, "Forgotten Warrior", aired weekly on Access Sacramento TV, channel 17, Wednesdays at 7pm.
