Profile bio

About Cade A. Windell

I was raised by a single mother in rural Oregon with five of my ten siblings and became the first in my family to graduate college through hard work and perseverance. I love film, grunge music, soccer, chess and philosophy. I had a heart transplant when I was four years old and lost my father to suicide in 2021.I have a strong affinity for programs that actively work towards breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health, fostering the growth and education of children, and supporting families in need. I truly appreciate initiatives that contribute to building a more compassionate and inclusive society. Without these programs, my family would have gone hungry.I'm grateful to have transitioned my career to support these programs, but I still greatly appreciate my previous experiences for giving me the confidence and skills I have today.I started at Precision Castparts as their first ever corporate intern while I was a junior in college. After graduation, I participated in their Financial Development Program which sent me across the country for the next two years to learn various finance functions in the organization. I worked with people from different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, creating connections with some wonderful people. I also went to the New Orleans Jazz Fest, Motown in Detroit, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and even a Roadkill Cookoff in the hills of West Virginia. After graduating the program, I accepted a full-time offer in California during the height of COVID. Due to layoffs, I quickly became the entire accounting department along with our controller. I got up to speed quickly and handled everything thrown at me, which often led to long hours. I excelled in this position that I even began supporting our sister-plant and offered best practices to other plants struggling within the division. After two years in California, I was ready to come home.My journey came full-circle and I was back at the corporate office in a highly visible role. Instead of testing their new account reconciliation software as an intern, I was the system administrator and subject matter expert of our latest account reconciliation software as a Senior Analyst. I presented monthly updates, fixes, and best practices to nearly 200 finance experts around the world. I loved the people I worked with, but the grind wore me out and I needed a change, which led me to where I am now with Clackamas County.I enjoy working with genuine people who start relationships from a place of respect and I love to help others, even when I don't know the solution.

Listed skills include Leadership, Microsoft Office, Public Speaking, Teamwork, and 5 others.
