I first became a licensed builder in 1974 in Wilmington, NC, and had a small company building roof decks on oceanfront homes. I returned to the Boston area where I attended the Boston Architectural Center. and worked in several architectural firms. In 1982 I returned to general contracting, working primarily on a design/build basis, on custom additions, renovations, new homes, and some commercial projects. In 2008 we began focusing on using sustainable building materials, as they might be used to create new building forms. This became a graduated learning process that firmly implanted the necessity of placing solar energy, and its possibilities as an aesthetic statement, as the key mission of the company.
